GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACTS

The theme of the conference, "At the Edge," encapsulates not only the geographical location of the island state within the vast expanse of the Southern Ocean but also signifies the cutting-edge science and technology integral to our daily endeavors in the hydrospatial field. Hydrospatial 2024 is poised to explore the horizon of hydrography's future, delving into emergent developments and pioneering techniques that will shape this dynamic domain.

Hydrospatial 2024 conference invites distinguished speakers from a diverse array of maritime disciplines. As the maritime realm encompasses a wide spectrum of specialties, Hydrospatial 2024 aims to be a unifying platform for various domains, including specialist hydrographic streams, maritime transport, oceanography, research institutions, offshore exploration, environmental science, maritime heritage, defense, tourism, coastal development, ports and harbors, Law of the Sea, and governmental agencies.

In the context of an ever-evolving global and regional landscape, hydrography remains an essential driver of both the world and regional economies. The Asia-Pacific region's geopolitical dynamics are undergoing transformative shifts, accompanied by Australia's successful rollout of the HydroScheme Industry Partnership Program. Additionally, the rich traditional and renewable resources nestled within our coastal waters, coupled with the increasing demand for offshore ventures, underscore the growing significance of professional hydrographic surveyors. This surge in importance is reinforced by our drive to go further offshore, measure deeper, collect more data, more accurately, and efficient methodologies, which further accelerates advancements in technology for both traditional manned vessels and autonomous systems.

This international and regional gathering endeavors to foster collaboration within the hydrospatial community. Through shared insights into evolving technologies and their potential implications, Hydrospatial 2024 aims to decipher the intricacies of operating "at the edge." This phrase captures the spirit of innovation and the pursuit of new frontiers, both geographically and technologically.

As our world undergoes transformative shifts, we recognize the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. The chosen theme for HYDRO 2024 stands as a beacon, designed to address and shed light on the emerging issues shaping our present and future trajectory.

By embracing these notions and contributing to the discourse, Hydrospatial 2024 seeks to catalyze progress, facilitate collaboration, and chart a course toward a future that resonates with the theme "At the Edge."

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Organising Committee cordially invites prospective participants to contribute their insights by submitting abstracts in alignment with the 'Guidelines for Abstracts' for potential inclusion in oral presentations.

The pursuit of excellence drives our call for abstracts that resonate with the overarching theme of the conference and adhere to the defined guidelines. These abstracts will be meticulously evaluated to curate a program that encompasses the theme's essence and its pertinent sub-themes, ensuring a well-rounded and insightful event.

All presenting authors must be registrants at the Conference. Abstracts complying with the guidelines must be submitted through the link below by Monday 15 January 2024.

A list is provided below related to the theme and possible sub-themes that authors may wish to present.

CONFERENCE THEME: 'on the edge'

The Conference program will attempt to reflect how cutting edge science and technology is being used across the broad spectrum of the applied science of hydrography and its related subjects. Hydrography is dealt with in a very ‘umbrella’ manner that most people do not understand. However, the science of Hydrography has an increasing relevance to deal with the effects of climate change, sea level rise, its importance to the global economy (including resource sustainability, renewable energy, and environmental protection) noting the changing global geo-political situation.
